Digital Sports Group have debuted inside the Comscore top 20 for sports websites in the UK, just two months after the official company launch in November.
The independent media group, whose website titles include Football.co.uk, Golf.co.uk, Tennis.co.uk and Rugby.co.uk, came in 17th for unique users in January, ahead of Times Online Sport, and the sports websites of The Mirror and The Indepedent.
DSG's ranking would have been 11th had the figures taken into account the group's acquisition of the FootyMad.net titles, which together attracted over nearly 2 million visits.
That would have put the start-up ahead of Telegraph Sport and within touching distance of The Guardian's sport website.
"It's an extremely encouraging result for Digital Sports Group, one that fully justifies the belief we've had in this project from the outset. Its rewarding to see DSG is fast becoming the UK's biggest privately owned digital sports publisher reaching both fans and participants of many sports" said Sports Editor Will Tidey.
"Our audience is growing rapidly and with new titles set to launch in the coming months we're confident we can break inside the prestigious top 10 and stay there."
